Beer-Battered Onion Rings

3 large onions, sliced
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 large egg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika powder
2 tsp dried parsley
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 cup beer
1 cup oil for frying

1. In a bowl, combine flour, egg, garlic, parsley, paprika, salt and pepper.
2. Gradually add beer, stirring, until a thick batter forms.
3. Refrigerate the batter 3 to 4 hours before using, if you have time.
4. Deep-fry in batches both sides in 370 F oil until golden brown.
