MadeJustRight.com, an Earth Balance-hosted online community passionate about cooking and the plant-based lifestyle announces its second annual Spring to Life Recipe Contest. The competition runs from April 9-May 6 and asks cooks nationwide to enter their best plant-based recipes made with Earth Balance® products for the chance to win the grand prize; a trip for two to San Francisco with eco-friendly accommodations at Orchard Garden Hotel, dinner at popular vegan restaurant Millennium, $1,000 in spending money and more.

“Spring brings the opportunity to enjoy fresh, plant-based foods and recipes,” said Duane Primozich, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Earth Balance. “We experienced great excitement around our first Spring to Life Recipe contest, and we are looking forward to seeing the delicious recipes our members submit this year. The plant-based diet allows for endless creativity!”

Throughout the four week contest, a team of culinary experts, including Kim Barnouin, author/co-author of the Skinny Bitch book series, will evaluate the recipes based on appeal, ease of preparation and creativity to select two winners every week, for a total of eight. They will each receive a one year supply of Earth Balance® products, an Earth Balance gift pack featuring Earth Balance gear, a copy of the book ‘Skinny Bitch Book of Vegan Swaps' by Kim Barnouin, and the opportunity to win the Grand Prize trip to San Francisco.

To qualify, recipes must be plant-based, contain at least one Earth Balance® product, including spreads, sticks, nut butters, soymilks and vegan mayos, and feature one or more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts or seeds. Each week, cooks will compete to have the top recipes in a different category. Following is the recipe category schedule:

    April 9th - April 15th: Appetizers & Side Dishes
April 16th - April 22nd: Beverages
April 23rd - April 29th: Entrees
April 30th - May 6th: Desserts

The eight winners will be considered for the final grand prize for a glamorous trip to San Francisco. All winners will be announced the week of May 14, 2012.
