A teenage boy was shocked to find a severed finger in his roast beef sandwich finger at Arby's, CBS News reported on Thursday.

Ryan Hart of Michigan described the ordeal in graphic detail to the Jackson Citizen Patriot.

"I was like, 'that (has) to be a finger.' I was about to puke," he said, according to CBS. "It was just nasty."

A local newspaper discovered that the finger belonged to an employee of the fast food restaurant upon further investigation. Apparently, the digit was amputated while the employee attempted to use the meat slicer.

Regional Arby's spokesman John Gray apologized for what he referred to as "an unfortunate and isolated incident," according to CBS.

Gray added that the restaurant immediately halted all production after the finger was discovered in Hart's sandwich, and waited to resume service until they figured out what had happened.

The restaurant has since been completely cleaned and sanitized, noted Gray, but the incident is still under investigation.

Believe it or not, this was not the first time a missing finger turned up in an Arby's sandwich. In 2004, AP reported an Ohio resident discovering a severed thumb in his food. Further investigation revealed that the restaurant's manager had sliced his thumb while cutting lettuce.
